Patrick is a co-founder and Managing Partner of Overark Ltd and Caucus Intelligent Risk PCC.

A vastly experienced insurance, risk and claims management professional, Patrick’s strategic-level expertise spans:

  • Enterprise-wide risk management framework implementation
  • Global insurance and captive programme design and delivery
  • Organisational transformation and change management
  • Supply chain management and procurement

During his 35 years in senior roles across the financial services sector, Patrick has worked with numerous market-leading organisations helping drive business transformation, embed intelligent risk financing and implement large scale cross-functional, cross-jurisdictional projects.

During his tenure as International Director of Risk, Insurance and Claims Management for the Hertz Corporation, Patrick was also a non-executive director of the Hertz captive insurance company, Probus and led a business transformation that resulted in improved quality and productivity at significantly reduced costs.

More recently, he was Chief Risk Officer at global specialty insurer, where he designed and implemented a global enterprise-wide risk structure with embedded risk and insurance programmes, as well as the board reporting programme. Additionally, he led the Solvency II compliance project.

Patrick has long played a prominent role in promoting industry-wide risk management best practice. A non-Executive director of Airmic, the UK association for risk and insurance management professionals, for seven years, he was appointed chair in June 2015. He is also a member of the Chartered Insurance Institute’s London claims committee, a guest lecturer at the Cass Business School, a Fellow of the Institute of Directors and a certified European risk professional.

Peter is a co-founder and Managing Partner of Overark Ltd and Caucus Intelligent Risk PCC.

With over 40 years of direct experience in the international risk and insurance market, Peter is one of the most accomplished and respected practitioners in the field. Peter worked in a number of senior underwriting roles over 20 years in the international underwriting markets in the USA, Europe and the UK. His capabilities span:

  • Strategic risk management programme design
  • Structuring insurance financing products, including Captives and PCCs
  • Developing multi-line insurance programmes
  • Conducting market assessments and viability studies

Peter’s extensive career in the risk and insurance sector has seen him lead the implementation and management of multiple company-wide programmes and projects, as well as establishing and operating various risk financing structures.

As head of PB Risk Management, his work has included risk profiling, insurance programme design, and implementing Special Purpose Vehicles. He was engaged by a broker in the social housing market to design its self-insurance strategy and provide the necessary underwriting support to the PCC. He also worked with Housing Associations to assess their risk management programmes.

During his 15 years as Group Head of Risk for De La Rue plc, he introduced internal risk benchmarking, designed a global multi-year, multi-line insurance programme making full use of the Group Captive, of which he was a Director, and implemented a range of environmental, health & safety and security management systems across the group globally.

Peter is a well-known figure in the international risk management arena. A member of IRM and RIMS, he is also a past Chairman of Airmic, the UK’s association for risk and insurance management professionals, and served on the Council for ten years. He has lectured in risk management and insurance programme design in Europe (FERMA) the US (RIMS) and South Africa (IFRIMA/ SARIMA) as well as in the UK.

Huw is a Consultant for Overark Ltd

For over 20 years, Huw has worked directly with Housing Associations in the UK providing expert advice on all aspects of insurance and risk management, amassing extensive experience in key areas including:

  • Developing insurance solutions specifically for Housing Associations
  • Launching one of the first self-insurance facilities for Associations
  • Advising Associations on all aspects of strategic risk planning

Huw has worked in commercial insurance for over 30 years, specialising in the social housing sector since 1996. During this time he has developed a granular-level insight into all aspects of Housing Association insurance and risk management.

As CEO of Housing Association specialist broker Acumus, which he co-founded in 2006, Huw was responsible for elevating the company to become one of the most recognised risk and insurance advisors in the UK Housing Association sector. The firm was sold to Arthur J. Gallagher in 2012. Prior to his work with Acumus, he was Managing Director and Chief Executive of Farr, helping establish the firm as a market leader in the supply of risk management and insurance solutions to the social housing sector.

Malcolm is a consultant to Overark Ltd.

Working exclusively in the housing sector for over 20 years, Malcolm has been director of a number of Housing Associations, including three stock transfer start-up businesses, acquiring in the process a range of key strategic skills including:

  • Implementation of corporate strategies
  • Business transformation project management
  • Procurement framework development
  • Structuring of housing association captives

During his career, he has managed a range of portfolios, including finance, governance, asset management, ICT and new build. In addition, he led the establishment of the first captive insurance company for a UK-based Housing Association.

As Deputy Chief Executive & Commercial Director at RCT Homes he developed the company’s business strategy and corporate plans, managed relationships with key business partners, and headed-up the company’s regeneration, asset management, finance, HR and governance teams. He led the finance and ICT teams at Wandle Housing Association while serving as Finance Director and Company Secretary. He was also Finance Director for the Richmond Housing Partnership.

Malcolm has been a Board member for a number of Associations, as well as third sector and commercial organisations. His deep insight into the Housing Association sector also means he is a regular speaker at related conferences.

He is a qualified member of the Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy and has also been an examiner for the Institute.

David Voller is a consultant to Overark Ltd, focused on claims management, subrogation and client on-boarding

David is one of the most accomplished claims managers in the insurance sector, with over 36 years of experience in managing property and casualty claims. His expansive expertise covers areas including:

  • Implementing and managing fully optimised claims workflows
  • Conducting end-to-end claims process re-engineering
  • Overseeing multi-national insurance and captive programmes
  • Carrying out strategic and tactical business planning

During his career David has worked in technical, operational and senior management roles with General Accident, Continental Insurance and Hertz Claim Management in multiple legal jurisdictions and global markets including the UK, Europe, Middle East and Asia Pacific.

While leading Hertz Claims Management International, David devised and delivered strategic business planning for the division to ensure continued growth and quality of service, and headed-up the major claims referral process. During his 20-year claims management tenure at Hertz, he was also responsible for significantly enhancing the firm’s end-to-end claims process, improving overall efficiency, achieving major cost benefits and elevating claims best practice across the board.
